Facebook is increasing the image size for desktop ads

Facebook is increasing the image size for desktop ads

Facebook has made changes and improvements to their ad formats that will now make it more consistent and better for advertisers. Larger images will give you more room to display your products or services and work more appropriately across all ad placements. An image size that is at least 1,200 pixels wide means that you no longer need multiple image sizes for different ad placements. The best image size to upload is 1200X627 pixels and for images appearing in the News Feed a minimum width of 600 pixels is recommended.

Apple iPhone 5s

Apple iPhone 5s and ios7

IOS7

Today apple is showing off Siri and how you can search for what Lady Gaga is saying on Twitter. New ring tones. The camera app now, with live photo effects, a square aspect ratio, etc. photos are grouped by location and time into “moments” as we saw at WWDC earlier. As always iOS 7 will be available, unbelievably, for free, starting on September 18th.

iPhone 5s

The iPhone 5S will have A7 chip, 64 bit! The world’s first 64 bit mobile phone. Also, included is a motion co-processor that enables a new generation of Health and Fitness apps. It’s a motion co-processor. It aggregates and monitors accelerometer, gyro, and compass data and offloads it from the A7. They claim 10 hours of LTE browsing, Wi-Fi. 40 hours of music. 250 hours standby. The main battery life claim not a huge leap over last year and it has a new a new, 5-element, Apple-designed lens with f/2.2 aperture. A 15 percent larger sensor with pixels are 1.5u in size to capture more light. The camera app will automatically set the white balance and exposure before you even take a picture, as soon as you open the app. Included is TrueTone” flash, which is all new. Whatever color your flash is it’s going to clash with the color of the room and give you a color that doesn’t look right. The flash is a dual-element, cool and amber. It offers 1,000 possible color temperatures! Auto image stability and there’s a burst mode too, 10fps for as long as you hold your finger on the shutter. Burst mode will help you get a picture of Al Gore next time. 10fps for as long as you hold your finger on the shutter. (This, presumably, is what it’s doing in the background all the time.) There’s a 120fps slow-motion camera too. Yes, panorama shots are possible too.
iPhone 5S

So, Apple’s introducing TouchID, which uses your fingerprint. There it is, fingerprint sensor is confirmed!

Apple selling the 5S as the most secure phone? That’s a big marketing advantage.

It’s called a “Very high level of security.” And there’s a secure area as portion of the A7, “accessible only by the Touch ID.” It’s never stored online or backed up to the iCloud. It’s called the Touch ID sensor. It’s capacitive, 170 microns thin. 500ppi resolution, which is quite impressive. It can scan in 360 degrees, so you don’t have to have the orientation right, and it can learn multiple fingers. It’s in the home button, with sapphire crystal top, a “stainless steel detection ring” and a tactile switch under the fingerprint sensor. Touch-to-unlock. No more swipe. It can also be used for iTunes purchases. Even better, you don’t need to enter your password when buying things anymore! Just use your thumbprint. That’s definitely huge.

The big three features: A7, Camera, Touch ID.

16GB at $199. 32GB at $299 and 64GB at $399. Yes, on-contract.

You can order the 5C on the 13th this Friday. On the 20th, the you can purchase the 5C and the 5S.

Embed Facebook Post WordPress

Embed Facebook post on your WordPress site are a great way to build followers for a Facebook Page.

Embedded Posts from your company Facebook Page are a great way to publish public post right into the content of your web site for added value. Similar to adding badges to your website the embedded post will show the additional media and the number of likes, shares, or comments for the post. This strategy allows you to build an audience by allowing them to follow or like your content from Facebook that is embedded directly into your website.

To embed a post, first check if the post is public by hovering over the audience selector (you’ll see a globe icon). Only public posts from Facebook Pages and profiles can be embedded.

You can also get the embed code directly from the post itself. If the post is public, click on the icon that appears in the top right corner of the post on Facebook:

Choose ‘Embed Post’ from the drop down menu that appears. You will see a dialog appear with the code to embed your post in it:

Copy and paste this code into your web page in the place where you want it to appear.

If you embed a post and later delete the post or change the post audience selector from public, what will happen to my embed? A message will display in place of the embedded post so be aware of what you have embedded from your Facebook post and where you have them on your WordPress site. How important is Google+ for your business

How important is a Google+ Plus Account for your business?

I'm frustrated with Google and need help.

I’m frustrated with Google and need help.

A Google Account can be created by getting a Gmail address and once that is done you can have multiple applications associated with it but before you start creating Google Accounts you need to understand a few things about Google Apps for business. This information will save you many hours of unproductive time trying to understand how important Google+ Plus is for your business.

Having more than one Google Account can be a site owner’s worst nightmare and only becomes more of a problem as you add more and more services from Google over time. The reason that we created this article was because we spent too many hours trying to understand how to solve a problem that we created before it had become a problem. Little did we know that in the years to come that many of the services provided from Google would be incorporated into what is now called Google Apps for business. This cloud-based productivity suite was not an option back in the early days of Google and would of prevented many of the headaches for those of us trying to figure out how to consolidate our Google Accounts today.

In the early days of Google and before many of us knew how important this company would become it was very easy to not understand the importance of having a single Google Account. Many of the applications that are now available from Google today didn’t exist in the early days and over time many of us have acquired several Google Accounts or started using applications such as a Google Plus Personal Profile, Google Plus Business Page Profile, YouTube, Google Webmaster Tools, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Offers, Google Wallet, Google Books, Adwords, Feedburner, etc.

Overtime and as you start using more of the services from Google you begin to realize that some of your applications are connected to one Google Account and other apps may be connected to this or that Google Account thus providing some confusion. Now, if you have several Google Accounts for one reason or another it becomes even more challenging to keep track of what is or is not connected to each account that you may or may not be using. It’s very simple to understand how managing several Google Accounts and applications can become a nightmare. Not only does it become a problem but can create confusion as you begin to build your Google Authority with Google.

How do you solve this problem and consolidate all of your Google Accounts so that you can create less confusion for everyone? Well, their really is not much of a solution that Google provides and you are left on your own trying to figure out how to solve your own puzzle. We ran into this problem as we started using more and more of the services that Google has available for businesses. It took us a good couple of days to figure out what applications we used and the proper Google Accounts that they were connected to before we could decide on a solution for our company.

As a result we were able to eliminate several Google Accounts that we did not need and choose the accounts or applications that we needed to keep before signing up for a Google Apps for business account. After creating our new account and verifying our domain name we took the necessary steps to set-up and change over our email from the old service provider to the new Gmail service provided within our Google Apps Account. This process was very simple to complete and once the DNS changes propagated throughout the internet company emails started arriving at the new destinations.

The second step was a little more time consuming but well worth the time as we added our admins for our new Google Apps for Business Account to existing services we decided to keep such as Webmaster Tools, Google Plus Company Profile, Google Analytics etc. This was somewhat of a challenge due to the fact that we bounced in and out of of our admin account for Google Apps to activate or grant permission to use applications like Google Hangouts, Google Plus etc. It was not until after most of the work was done that we realized you can segment the company and choose which users can work outside the domain name or have the ability to interact with public. Since, Keylime Social is a Social Media Company we are not restricting any of our users from acting outside our domain name at this time but we could change this if our company needs change.

Once we completed the previous steps we started working on understanding how to eliminate several of the Google Accounts. Unfortunately, once our admins were added to each of the applications as administrators we decided that it would best to leave each of the accounts active rather than deleting the accounts. We choose this option because were not sure how that would effect the additional applications that are associated with the Google account such as YouTube, Google+ Plus Business Page Profile or Webmaster Tools.

How important is Google+ Plus for your business or personal brand? If you are shacking your head yes or may not be too sure then this will be the most important part or takeaway for your business/brand.

The third step in the process, most important part of the puzzle and backbone behind everything that Google seems to be doing as they focus on Google+ Plus, Semantic Web, Google Authority, The Social Graph etc was to transfer our Google Profiles to our new account. We started this by having all our users update their new profiles on Google+ Plus and make sure to include all custom links for websites they are a contributor to so that Google would continue to recognizing the links for Google Authorship. Once this was completed we then used Google Takeout to transfer the Google+ connections to the new account. Google Takeout is a tool that lets you easily transfer your Google+ connections to another account. To help create less confusion we had our users delete the custom links for websites on their old Google+ Personal Profile and start sharing new content on the new Google+ Profiles that were created on the Keylime Social domain.

This has been an ongoing project to consolidate several Google Accounts and create a more centralized environment that allows us to work more efficiently withing the Google Apps. We hope that you have been able to gain some in site to as to how to consolidate several Google Account and applications like Gmail, Google+ Plus Personal Profile, Google+ Business Page Profile, YouTube, Google Webmaster Tools, Google Calendar etc.

Have you been able to solve this problem, not sure how to get started or have questions for us? Please comment below or reach out to Keylime Social for additional information.

Facebook Exchange (FBX)

Facebook Exchange (FBX) allows advertisers to retarget their website visitors with Facebook Link Page Post Ad formats. FBX is a real-time bidding ad exchange in which advertisers drop tracking cookies on users’ browsers as they surf the web and then retarget those users with ads once they enter Facebook, perhaps to remind them to come back to sites they were visiting.

Facebook Exchange is not to be confused with power editor or Facebook Ads that most marketers are familiar with and requires a FBX partner to access the news feed ad inventory. It’s not as complicated as one may think and can be implemented in less than an hour. Once the tracking cookies are in place and the ad campaigns are built you should start seeing results within days of launching your campaign. Results may vary based on the amount of traffic visiting the website so be patient as you begin to use the new real-time bidding ad exchange system to retarget users on Facebook.
